Residency in Emergency Medicine

A Message from Richard D. Shih, MD, FACEP, FAAEM

Welcome to the Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine Emergency Medicine Residency website. We appreciate your interest in our program and we would like to share as much information as we can regarding our new Emergency Medicine Residency.

We are ACGME approved and accepted our first group of EM residents in July of 2017. We interview prospective applicants beginning in October through the ERAS system.

Our program focuses on training excellent clinical emergency physicians. I have been lucky to have been involved in training residents as a program director over the last 20 years. At Florida Atlantic University College of Medicine, I am enjoying the opportunity to work with world class academic and clinical teaching emergency physicians. Our goal is to provide EM residents the opportunity for outstanding clinical training in an excellent academic environment. We hope to build one of the premiere emergency medicine training programs in Florida.

We hope you choose to be a part of our new EM family.

Richard D. Shih, MD
