About the MD Program

Medical students outside the Schmidt College of Medicine buildingCharles E. Schmidt College of Medicine admits 64 students to each first year class. Within the total class size of 64 students, a maximum of 4-5 students may be admitted to the dual MD/PhD program sponsored jointly by the College of Medicine and The Scripps Research Institute.

A small medical school with a state-of-the-art innovative medical education curriculum, located in a vibrant mosaic of ethnic communities and cultural groups which is Boca Raton, and south Florida. The integrated patient-focused curriculum (IPFC) features essential learning objectives with subject matter integrated throughout the curriculum (professionalism, team-based, complex and chronic disease management, continuity-of-care, health promotion and disease prevention, reflective practice and self improvement and evidence-driven decision making).
